When visiting the dentist you will positively be asked, “Have you been flossing everyday?” And most will reply with, “Well not as much as I should be.” Most people make brushing twice a day part of their daily routine but forget about the importance of flossing. The American Dental Association recommends flossing at least once a day. A toothbrush cleans the tops and outer surfaces of the teeth and gums while flossing cleans in between the tight spaces. The floss also reaches in the space between the base of the tooth and the gums. Even after a good brushing, food and tartar build up may still be stuck in between those hard to reach places. Flossing is an important tool to help prevent cavities and gum disease.
